AS Level Subjects
AS Level One Year Courses
AS stands for Advanced Subsidiary level. It is the first half of the A level and is therefore a one year course. A full A level is taken at the end of the second year of study in most cases. Students normally choose four AS level subjects and take the examination papers in May/June after one year of study. Students then progress to the full A level in three of these four subjects, which are studied for one more year.
Intensive one year A level course
A student taking the intensive one year A level course may take some of the AS level examinations in January, that is, after just one term of study, with the final A level examination papers taken in June.
