Yesterday we were visited by some lovely people from the National Citizen Service. This is a voluntary personal and social development programme for 15-17 year olds funded by the government. There are four phases to the programme:
1. Adventure phase. This is a residential trip where they’ll take part in archery, rock climbing, canoeing etc.
2. Discover phase. You live independently and learn essential life skills from local business leaders and charities, gain confidence in public speaking and communication skills. CV development!!
3. Social action. Creating a community project based on a social issue. A chance to make a difference
4. Celebration phase. Celebrate your achievements with fellow NCSers at one event and get a certificate signed by the prime minister!
Usually the whole thing would cost £1500 but because it’s a government funded programme they’re offering it for just £50. For more information visit: https://www.ncsyes.co.uk/
