The International Foundation Programme in Business, Economics & Finance is delivered on campus by Aberystwyth University and recruited globally in partnership with David Game College. The programme provides international students with a high-quality pathway into UK higher education.

This programme equips students with the academic skills, subject knowledge, and confidence required to progress onto a wide range of undergraduate degree programmes within the Aberystwyth Business School.

Students benefit from approximately 20 hours of weekly contact time, delivered through a variety of teaching methods designed to support different learning styles. Seminars, tutorials, interactive learning, pair work, group tasks, discussions and presentations are all used to help students develop the communication and analytical skills essential for university-level study in the UK.

Tutors value individual perspectives and encourage students to share their academic interests, which can be integrated into the learning experience. Through the programme, students will:

  • critically engage with contemporary issues in Business, Economics, Finance and Accounting

  • develop an understanding of internal and external business environments, the operation of markets, sources of finance and accounting methods

  • experience undergraduate-level learning, building a strong foundation in key business concepts and topics

  • enhance study skills in research, academic writing, group work and effective note-taking in English

  • gain confidence in preparing and presenting academic work in English, ready for undergraduate study
