About David Game College

David Game College is an independent sixth form college, founded in 1974. Over the last 40 years, thousands of students have benefited from our intensive tuition, securing places at top UK universities and realising their ambitions.  This is what David Game is all about – providing the right climate and environment for students to make choices that put them on the pathway to security and success.  We combine traditional values with a modern approach to ensure that all courses are delivered and taught in the most efficient and effective way for examination success.  Class sizes are small so that the David Game tradition of tutorial-style teaching can be used to make hugely positive impact on learning.  In 2017, OFSTED rated David Game as “Outstanding”.

Scope and responsibilities of the role

Teaching English GCSE in line with College policies and guidelines; knowledge of recent developments at GCSE and A level is highly desirable.

Applicant will need to be an enthusiastic and committed teacher who is aware of and sympathetic to the needs of 14 -19 year olds.

You should possess a good first degree in English; a PGCE or equivalent qualification is preferred.

This is a part time position with the possibility of becoming full time.  The role includes teaching and administrative duties typical of any independent tutorial college.   Timetabling is flexible at the start of the year so this is an ideal job if you have other commitments to fit around this work.

David Game College is an equal opportunities employer, values diversity and is committed to the Equalities Act.  David Game College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all learners and requires all staff to share this commitment.  The successful applicant will be required to undertake the appropriate checks as well as providing proof of your right to work in the UK.
