Boarding Facilities

In September 2022 David Game College launched an exciting boarding offering to compliment our well-established day school. This initiative came to fruition through the College’s vision of creating a fully immersive, day and boarding school option for students wishing to study in Central London and reside on site at the College. Boarders can expect a high standard of accommodation with excellent supporting facilities. An overview of the boarding house and associated facilities follows.

Rooms

The individual living quarters at David Game College come in four types of room options – single, ensuite, premium ensuite and studio. Each contains a small double bed with memory foam mattress, ample storage space and room to study by way of a built-in desk complete with desk chair. Panoramic windows provide mood-boosting natural light, and all rooms have underfloor heating. Superfast wireless broadband makes browsing easy. High quality sheets and towels are provided on a weekly basis, alongside weekly room cleaning.

Ensuite rooms contain high spec shower units, and the studios also have a galley kitchen including fridge freezer and microwave. There are a variety of options, all providing comfort and an ultra-modern environment. For more information on our boarding school rooms and availability you can email the accommodation team on accommodation@davidgame-group.com.

Bathrooms

The single units share bathrooms in clusters of two or three; they are modern fitted shower rooms with wash basins. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly by our domestic staff. Ensuite and studio rooms are equipped with their own private bathroom facilities.

Kitchens

Each cluster of units (except the studios which have their own private kitchen facilities) contains a communal kitchen which is a great place to relax and socialise. The kitchens provide all the modern conveniences that might be required including a cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. This provides students the self-sufficiency they need to prepare food and snacks outside of the daily full board catering which is included for all boarders.

Common Rooms

In the College there are several communal areas for our boarders to use. There is the lounge area, which is decked out with comfortable sofas and board games, adjoining the gaming room, which has a variety of gaming options including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Meta Quest 2 VR headset. These are great spaces for our boarders to unwind, enjoy each other’s company and take a little time out. In addition there is a leisure room for group activities including table football along with social seating.

On each floor in the boarding house there is an additional communal area where boarders can relax in a quiet environment to read, play board games and socialise with friends.

As in the College, the boarding house is decorated with paintings from Mr Game’s extensive private collection, which he is pleased to share with our boarding community.

Laundry Room

A self service laundry facility is provided. The Circuit Laundry app makes it simple for boarders to check when machines are free and when washing is ready to collect. It is also possible to have a laundry service at an additional charge.

Bike Storage

Bike storage is available. Biking is popular here, with growing numbers of cycle lanes and commuters using this method of getting to work. Lime Bikes are also very popular in London, and can be rented via the Uber app.

Disabled Access

Our boarding house is fully wheelchair accessible.

Security Entry

Each boarder has an individual key fob which provides access to their designated areas. There is a two-door entry system at ground level to provide an extra level of security. CCTV is present throughout the boarding house.

Boarding Support

There is a 24/7 onsite boarding team. The House Parents provide practical help and support as well as safeguarding.

The REACH system we use is a tried and tested system for use in school settings. It is a vital tool for the boarding team to check the whereabouts of students, providing a secure system for monitoring boarders in and out of the boarding house. It is app based and requires boarders to scan in and out as they enter or exit the building, and offers additional features which are vital to the safeguarding and management of our boarding community.

REACH also features an administrative tool for students and parents to submit leave requests and enables staff to monitor and approve the comings and goings of boarders - this is particularly useful for the monitoring, management and execution of the exeat and leave periods. Announcements to the community are easily made via text messages sent to mobile devices. This is crucial for security alerts and/or any other situations which boarders need to be quickly apprised of. The system puts student safety first and allows for easy communication between students, their home and the College.

Medical Room

David Game College boarders benefit from a dedicated, fully qualified Nurse who can be contacted at any time for medical advice and emergencies. The Nurse can treat students in the medical room for minor ailments, and in the case of more serious illness will take the appropriate action for offsite treatment. Boarders are welcome to discuss any health concerns, no matter how minor they may seem.
