1) Personalised AI-powered study in the mornings
Students learn through online learning platforms that check understanding, target knowledge gaps and move students forward only when each topic is mastered.

2) Life‑skills and labwork / practicals in the afternoons
Students receive 300+ hours of practicals and personal development workshops, including resilience and wellbeing, public speaking and debate, teamwork and leadership, entrepreneurship and financial literacy, technology and AI, plus regular cognitive, creative and physical activities.

3) Daily coaching
Learning coaches actively monitor the studying behaviours and learning data for every student, providing targeted support as needed on a ‘just-in-time’ basis.

4) Weekly mentoring
Students also set and review personal goals together with their mentor at least once per week, receiving encouragement and guidance in order to ensure their progress.

5) Support from subject specialist teachers
Subject-specialist teachers conduct practical lessons, deliver revision classes, mark and provide feedback on practice exams, and also offer additional one-to-one support to students as exams get closer.

Why is the programme called ‘Sabrewing’?

The programme is named after the Sabrewing hummingbird. Hummingbirds are celebrated for their exceptional agility, resilience and adaptability. They also excel in navigating their environments independently and tend to fly solo even when migrating over great distances.

The Sabrewing programme intends to develop the same independence, self-reliance, resilience and adaptability in all of its students, as they progress on their own personalised learning journeys.

Hummingbirds are also unique in their ability to fly in all directions. This reflects our educational philosophy that sometimes, revisiting previous material is essential in order to achieve true mastery and progress.

Do students spend the entire day learning through screens?

No. While mornings focus on AI-powered, adaptive learning with the support of learning coaches, the afternoons feature our interactive life-skills workshops, as well physical education classes and practical lessons. There are also frequent outings throughout the year, which are integral to the programme and support both its academic and life-skills components.

Is the Sabrewing Programme delivered in person or online?

Students on the Sabrewing Programme attend David Game College in person, five days a week during term time (Monday to Friday), arriving no later than 9.10am each day and typically finishing by 4.30pm.

Will my child still have access to teachers?

Daily learning and progress is supported by our dedicated learning coaches, together with Violet – our AI-powered personal tutor. Subject specialist teachers deliver practical lessons, revision classes and exam paper walkthroughs, and also provide additional one-to-one support to each student as exams draw nearer.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of subjects?

Students typically complete 5 GCSEs or 2-3 A Levels in one year, however this can be adjusted depending on the circumstances of each student. Students who have already passed some of their GCSEs / A Levels will often retake fewer subjects, whereas other students may wish to take on additional subjects, which may be possible depending on the student’s prior knowledge in each subject and desired grades. 

Course fees remain the same regardless of the number of subjects being studied, however exam fees will vary depending on the number of subjects being entered for.

Do students on the Sabrewing Programme interact with other students at the college?

Students who join the Sabrewing Programme remain an integral part of the David Game College community. They are welcome to join clubs, trips and other shared activities offered by the College. They will also have opportunities to interact with staff and students from the wider college during lunch breaks and also before and after their classes.
